NATAS Silver Circle

  • 2002, in recognition for her work on One Life to Live, Erika Slezak was inducted as a member of the Silver Circle of the New York chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences for over a quarter-century of "significant contributions" to television

CDC Awards

  • In 2000, One Life to Live received the first-ever CDC Sentinel for Health Award in the daytime drama category. The agency recognized the show for its exceptionally accurate and impactful portrayal of breast cancer.

  • In the award winning plot line, Erika Slezak’s long running character, Victoria “Viki” Lord, was diagnosed with breast cancer following a routine mammogram. The CDC praised the storyline for educating millions on:

    • The critical importance of routine cancer screenings

    • What to expect during medical diagnoses

    • The emotional and physical realities of cancer treatment.
